Cookies
A cookie is a small file, usually consisting of letters and numbers, which is downloaded on to
your computer when you access certain websites. The cookie allows the website to recognise your
device. We use a small number of cookies most of which are session cookies; a session cookie is
automatically deleted from your device as soon as you navigate away from our website.
Set out below is a brief description of the cookies Collyer Bristow use and what they do:
Content Management Cookies - These session cookies are used, for example, to assist with
any changes to the style of our website that users may wish to make or if you elect to view our
website as "Text Only". If you are a subscriber and log into our website, a CMS cookie will
remember that you have done so as you navigate around the site.
Online Notification Cookies - This session cookie is used by our server to count how many
visitors are viewing our website at any one time. A random number is generated when you arrive at
our website and the server uses this to track you until you navigate away.
Google Analytics - These cookies are used to help us improve the services we provide by
collecting information about how visitors use our website. The cookies gather information in an
anonymous form and enable us to know how many people visit our website, where the visitors have
come to the website from, how long they stay on our website and what pages they view.
One of the four Google cookies is not a session cookie but a persistent cookie. This particular
cookie registers when you first visit our website and will record any subsequent visits you may
make. This cookie will be stored on your hard drive for two years unless you actively delete
it.
We do not use cookies to identify you but to improve your experience of our site, however, you
can choose not to accept the cookies Collyer Bristow uses. Should you disable all cookies, you will
still be able to access our website although some aspects of its functionality may be impaired. If
you want to block cookies you can do so through your internet browser.
