Business Development Executive

The role of the Business Development Executive is to drive activities and initiatives that support the firm in profitable new business generation, in the effective growth of its key client base; and in the development of its profile in its chosen markets.

Responsibilities will include undertaking research and supporting fee earners in preparation and follow up of prospect meetings, working with fee earners, the BD Manager and the marketing team to construct and implement annual and ad-hoc campaign/marketing plans, co-ordinating and signing off the production of the firm’s directory submissions and supporting the collection of client feedback, utilising insight to improve the client experience.

You will need to be educated to degree level (or equivalent), be articulate and confident in dealing with people at all levels, demonstrate excellent attention to detail, possess good keyboard skills including desktop publishing skills, be capable of preparing copy for the website, brochures, pitches and press releases and be able to manage a busy workload. Candidates should have some previous experience in the Business Development and Marketing areas and preferably have worked in professional services with an understanding of the partnership model, although this is not essential.

The hours of work are 9.30 am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday with an hour for lunch each day (35 hours per week). Some flexibility in working hours would be required.

Secretary – Real Estate Litigation

Our client base includes multinationals, public and private companies, partnerships, public sector organisations and private clients.

We have a vacancy for an experienced legal secretary to support our Real Estate Litigation team which is part of our Commercial Services Department. You will provide full secretarial and administrative support to a minimum of three lawyers in the team. Candidates will be expected to undertake a full range of secretarial duties including digital and copy typing, opening & closing files, obtaining billing guides and preparing draft bills, filing and e-filing, maintaining diaries including organising and scheduling meetings, booking lunches, training courses and managing queries from clients as required. Where necessary you will also be required to provide additional support to secretarial and fee earner staff within the firm.

You should be pro-active, motivated and keen to be a part of the team and support the fee earners. You must have previous experience working within litigation and the ability to prioritise and work on your own initiative to manage a very busy workload. You should be proficient in Microsoft office applications, in particular Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook and possess fast, accurate typing and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Previous experience of supporting a minimum of 3 fee earners is required.

Normal working hours are 9.30 am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday but candidates must be prepared to work outside contractual hours as and when required.

We have a vacancy for an experienced legal secretary to support fee earners in our Dispute Resolution Services team. This role is to support fee earners undertaking Intellectual Property, Commercial Litigation and Banking & Financial Disputes work. In addition, you will be one of a team of people who organise travel arrangements (air/train tickets) for fee earners in the firm.

You will provide full secretarial and administrative support to a minimum of four lawyers in the team. Candidates will be expected to undertake a full range of secretarial duties including digital and copy typing, opening & closing files, obtaining billing guides and preparing draft bills, filing and e-filing, maintaining diaries including organising and scheduling meetings, booking lunches, training courses and managing queries from clients as required.
