Directors' disqualification proceedings

Acting for a consultant to a company which owned several Italian restaurants. The company went into liquidation after trading at the expense of the Crown. The Insolvency Service brought disqualification proceedings against our client after accepting evidence from a former director that he had acted as de facto director. We were able to serve evidence in answer which showed that our client had never acted as a director, only a buyer, and persuaded the Insolvency Service to discontinue the proceedings.
