In a recent survey by law firm Collyer Bristow of 200 senior decision makers at firms based in London, 80% stated that they believe that Brexit will have a greater impact on the UK economy than the financial crisis of 2007 – 2008. Interestingly that fell to 64% in the banking and financial sector.

76% of those surveyed think that London should be able to negotiate its own Brexit deal, however, only 36% think that is actually possible within the next five years. Respondents also believe that recruitment will be affected in the 2 years following the departure with 61% believing it would be more or much more difficult to hire senior staff, this figure rose to 95% for those in the banking and financial sector.
