Intellectual property, Dispute resolution


Joe is a member of our Intellectual Property team. He has over 30 years' experience in acting for multinational corporations, small and medium sized businesses and individuals in the commercialisation, protection and enforcement of their creative works. He specialises in litigation and other forms of dispute resolution arising from the infringements of all forms of intellectual property rights. Joe draws up the full range of contracts involving the licensing, acquisition and sale of all forms of intellectual property rights. These include contracts relating to patents, trade marks, designs and copyrights, manufacture and supply agreements, distribution and agency agreements, advertising, franchising and merchandising agreements. He carries out IP audits and advises on competition law compliance procedures.

Joe has been involved in a number of recent significant cases, including a major case in which it was held that our client’s patent for a paper processing machine had been infringed, a case in which it was held that our client’s registered design for an ‘ice bucket bag’ had been infringed and two significant cases in which it was held that our client was entitled to enforce a trade mark co-existence agreement. He has written articles on various aspects of intellectual property law and has spoken at a number of international IP conferences.
