Karen is a partner in our Intellectual Property team. Karen advises on both contentious and non-contentious IP matters, and is highly experienced in negotiating commercial/IP agreements on behalf of clients, dispute resolution work in connection with all aspects of IP, supervising rights creation work particularly trade marks and designs clearance and prosecution. She has over 20 years’ experience as a specialist intellectual property and commercial lawyer, and is qualified and has practiced in Singapore, Hong Kong and the UK. Karen is also a CEDR accredited mediator and has a wealth of experience in working in the High Court, Court of Appeal and Intellectual Property Enterprise Court (IPEC) as well as using different alternative dispute resolution techniques particularly mediation and ICC arbitration.

Her practice focuses on devising global IP strategies and managing IP rights of major brand owners in the USA, Europe and Asia, and supports Collyer Bristow’s multi-jurisdictional capabilities. Karen advises technology driven companies, fashion houses and leading brand owners on IP and commercial matters including regulatory counselling on sensitive issues.  She has advised some of the world leading IP owners on all aspects of IP in a variety of industry sectors. Karen also heads up Collyer Bristow’s Fashion Sector group.

Karen is a WIPO panelist and is currently the INTA (International Trade Mark Association) Communications Group Co-ordinator as well as a member of the International Moot Court Committee. In 2013, she completed a three year degree in contextual theology at St Mellitus College, London and is now a Licensed Lay Minister of the Church of England.
